THEO MOORMAN WEAVING ON RIGID HEDDLE LOOM

Learn to create fascinating freehand designs on the loom.

Suitable for Rigid Heddle Loom owners, who are comfortable with weaving basics and are open to exploring more on their loom. Theo Moorman, UK based weaving artist developed an interesting technique of weaving using tie-down warps and supplementary wefts for creating beautiful patterns. She wove artistic wall hangings and also many large commissioned works for cathedrals and churches in UK & USA.

Theo Moorman’s technique can be practised on Rigid heddle looms too with 2 heddles.

In this workshop, you will learn to weave using the Theo Moorman technique and take home an original piece of woven art.

This workshop includes:  

• Introduction to Theo Moorman weaving technique & hands-on exploration
• setting up the warp for your project
• Weaving a cushion cover face OR a square wall art with your original design

All materials provided by the studio. You can use the loom available at the studio

Duration: 4 days x 5 ½ hours each day with a ½ hr lunch break
