Cashmere Yarn for Weaving, Knitting & Crochet

Exceptionally soft yarn made from fine quality cashmere fibres and processed by expert spinners. Cashmere is known for its remarkable softness, warmth, and lightness. Despite being lighter than wool, it provides excellent insulation and a uniquely gentle hand.

This yarn is well suited for weaving scarves, shawls and lightweight fabrics. It works beautifully in both warp and weft and can be used on all types of looms, including Rigid heddle looms.

For weaving, we recommend a sett of around 15 ends per inch (15 DPI on rigid heddle looms). Aim for approximately 15 picks per inch to create a slightly open fabric structure. This allows the yarn to bloom after washing, bringing out the characteristic softness and halo of cashmere.

After weaving, soak the fabric in lukewarm water for a few hours and then wash gently to allow the yarn to bloom. A second wash may further enhance the softness and halo.

While designed primarily for weaving, the yarn also works well for fine knitting and crochet. Knit or crochet with a slightly open structure to allow the yarn to bloom after washing. Sampling with different needle or hook sizes is recommended before starting a project.

Notes on Hand Dyed Yarns

Variations in shade within a cone and batch-to-batch variations are inherent to the hand dyeing process.
We recommend purchasing sufficient yarn from the same dye lot for a project.
