Bengaluru weaving workshops

We are joyed by the response from the Bengaluru makers community! Last month’s ‘beginners’ weaving workshop’ was overbooked! It was a one-day workshop where the participants learnt to set up a 10” wide warp on Ashford SampleIt loom using DK weight cotton knitting yarn and wove a yardage with enough length to convert into a sling bag! Our support team with a sewing machine converted the woven yardage into smart sling bags by adding the necessary lining fabrics and canvas straps. Imagine walking in with empty hands and an eager mind and going home in style after gaining basic knowledge of a craft and proof of your creation! Can it get any better?
 
We also conducted a workshop for the Rigid heddle loom owners in Bengaluru where they learnt how to weave the beautiful ‘jamdhani’ motifs and make a scarf for themselves!
