Diamonds and flowers on Rigid Heddle loom

This is another simple yet effective technique to create beautiful geometric motifs. With just one heddle on the Rigid heddle loom!
 
The technique as you can see in this video is very simple, all you do is just to ‘dip’ the warp end with your finger to create a little float as you weave and start building the motif in subsequent picks. 
 
For this Diamonds and Flowers cushion cover project, we used two contrasting colours ofmercerised cotton 5/2 for the warp and weft: a combination of toffee rose and natural white in the warp for the stripe effect and natural white in the weft. The motifs show up even with the same coloured warp and weft- with a beautifully subtle ‘embossed’ effect. Try it, you will fall in love with this head over heels!
